A visit to THE RAJAH'S PALACE (courtesy of Jim Ferich!)

One of the nice things about the internet is the ability to meet like-minded people who if not for the internet you probably would never have met at all.

For me one of those people is Jim Ferich, a fellow Colonial wargamer and fellow fan/customer of Chris Riordan AKA: Chris The Model Maker.

Jim left a comment here on my blog offering to send me some pics of a model Chris recently built for him, which Jim has dubbed with the eminently appropriate name: The Rajah's Palace.

As usual, Chris did a rather incredible job.  The only bad thing I could say about this model is that it does not reside in my home!

It could be used for any number of Sikh Wars, Indian Mutiny, Afghan Wars, and/or general NWF gaming purposes.  One thing that came to my mind right away was to use it as the British Residency for the 1879 attack on Major Cavagnari and his escort of Guides in the Bala Hissar.

As the saying goes: feast your eyes -- and, if you're like me, try to keep your jealousy in check...

From the collection of Jim Ferich:

Great work by Chris, and my sincere thanks to Jim for allowing me to share it!

NEWS FLASH:

Found another 5 pics sent by Jim, which somehow
slipped through the cracks of my aging brain, but
are now posted for our further edification...

  4. Wow! Nice work indeed! Yes, that little beauty could be used for all kinds of gaming. I do like how the internet brings people of like mind together, no matter where they are in the world.

  6. Ever get those moments where you see something so unutterably cool and you realise that nothing you can make will ever come close?

I think that's what happened to me just this minute...

  7. That is a work of art!!! What a magnificent center piece for a game.

Chris is an amazing terrain maker. I too have one of his pieces, a simple 25mm NWF house. I'd love to own more....

    Cheers,
    JB
