On a related front, a little earlier this evening I managed to post a PAGE devoted to the Afghan Army List we used for the game. It too has some nice pics, but this one blows all else away for me...
Being a mostly visual diary of the creation of high quality, historically accurate 25mm/28mm scale terrain for a refight of the battle waged by the British and Afghans on July 27th, 1880, in time for its recent 130th anniversary on Tuesday, July 27th, 2010.
Above is a pic of Lt. Colonel James Galbraith, Regimental Colour in hand, alongside Bobbie the regimental dog and some of the other "Last Eleven" survivors of the 66th (Berkshire) Regiment, making their last stand in one of the walled gardens just South of Khig village, a few miles West of the Afghan town of Maiwand.

AFGHAN ARTILLERY POSE FOR DRY PLATE PHOTO
I was en route to bed, having had a long day of family activities and knowing tomorrow will be more of the same -- when I discovered this pic had been sent to me by Matthew Rigdon, one of my fellow "Maiwand Maniacs." It blew me away and I couldn't go to sleep until after posting it here!

You might want to consider changing your "blog title photo" to one from your game.

Good point, Jeff. I love the photo that's up now but I will consider changing it soon, when I manage to get a complete AAR on the battle posted, along with a bunch more photos. Hopefully that will be soon!
