This post will cover the second of three games played by myself and my good friends Daryl Haselton, Nick Stern during the course of "BACHELOR WARS" -- our ironically named (since none of us are bachelors!) micro-convention held on Friday June 7th and Saturday June 8th, 2024.
Nick packed up all the troops and terrain for this game & drove them down from his place near San Francisco to my place in Los Angeles. One of the most memorable details of the weekend was the three of us changing the 6' x 8' layout for game #1 "The Battle of Kalu Khan" which incorporated a bunch of rocky hills and 8' of river boards, into 6' x 8' of flat ground-cover for Nick's 54mm Boxer Rebellion game #2:
ADMIRAL SEYMOUR DERAILED!
This scenario takes place in June 1900, during British Admiral Sir Edward Seymour's railbound expedition to relieve the besieged foreign legations then under siege in Peking (AKA: Beijing) by a combination of Boxer and allied Imperial forces.
Rules used were TSATF 20th Anniversary, with reduced unit sizes.
The British enter via train tracks on the South end of the table with the objective of repairing the damaged track located towards the far end of the table in order to continue on and reach Peking, located approximately 50 miles past the North table edge.
The Chinese forces started the game hidden in various rough terrain areas all across the table.
